Jamaica Plain has been Mary's home since she moved here after college. She lives in the Forest Hills area of Jamaica Plain, on the Arboretum side, and has two sons. Mary loves walking and she tries to walk as much as possible, The walkability of Jamaica Plain and Boston allows her to do just that.

She is active in the climate change movement working on sustainability and community resilience. Mary loves personal narratives and you will find her telling stories at local Story Slams (Massmouth Boston). She serves on many committees and has previously been the Secretary of the Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Council and the President of Jamaica Plain Centre South Main Streets. Currently, she is a board member of the Jamaica Plain Business and Professional Association.
