We were thrilled to participate in HomeStart’s Keys to the House: JP. The event helped raise $12,000, which helps save families and individuals from losing their homes and offer stabilization services to assist them in obtaining and maintaining permanent housing. Several of our agents were in attendance and we helped to sponsor the event.

It seemed like all of Brookline came out to enjoy this picture perfect day and partake in all that Brookline Day had to offer. The air was filled with great music, food grilling and children of all ages laughing with great glee at the games and amusements. The Brookline business community was out in full force to support and inform the community patrons in attendance.
Prudential Unlimited had a few waves of agents manning our booth including Kristen McCarthy, Sean Preston, Alan Caplin and Ted Ufland. There was some business discussed, but mostly, we enjoyed meeting our neighbors and the smiles on all of the children’s faces who stopped by for a water bottle or balloon. Despite the breezy day, the balloons were a huge hit. So much so that we ran out of helium and had to rely on our own hot air to satisfy the demand. We persevered to keep everyone hydrated and happy.
It was a fantastic day, and we look forward to participating again next year. Until September 2015, we look forward to seeing everyone at our Coolidge Corner office or just out-and-about in town.

COSMOS: An Art Exhibit By Ginny Zanger
I am an environmental artist. My work celebrates the beauty of what remains on our shores, under our oceans, and in our forests. Working with water media to evoke the gorgeous textures and deep, mysterious forces of our planet, I have developed techniques that recreate the flows and fissures of the natural world: ocean currents, shifting sands, volcanic mountains.
COSMOS is a series that I am presenting for the first time, at Prudential Unlimited Realty. It is new for me in both content and process. The earthy, organic flows that I have been developing have somehow morphed into more cosmic realms. I call them watercolor mono-type paintings because I couldn’t decide whether to call them painterly prints or printerly paintings: they combine both printmaking and painting techniques. Each piece begins with an experiment in surface tension, a process that the surrealists called decalcomanie, which they explored to uncover the subconscious. I utilize it to uncover the organic flows of the natural world. The only paint is watercolor.
on the Outer Cape, including a residency at a historic Provincelands dune shack, have provided me with a deep and visceral appreciation for the ocean, a connection enhanced by winters of deep sea diving in the Caribbean. To evoke the flow of ocean currents, I pour, spray, and brush watercolor paints on polypropylene (Yupo). This silky material resists rather than absorbs the watercolors, resulting in unusual texturing that has been compared to ceramic glazing. These materials and processes, which I guide but do not control, allow me to participate in the spontaneity and unpredictability of nature.

Please join us at our Jamaica Plain office (673 Centre Street) to view the work from three talents – two photographers, BJ Ray and Karen Owens Linehan and one mixed media artist, Melissa Hanes.
BJ Ray is an amateur photographer who lives in Jamaica Plain. He draws a lot of inspiration from his environment. BJ loves JP and loves trying to capture its essence with the camera. In every moment, from every perspective, the perfect picture can be found. “While I don’t think I’ve ever quite hit on that perfect moment, if I spent the rest of my life trying to find it, I wouldn’t consider my efforts to be in vain.”
Karen grew up in a family of photographers and artists. She was a teacher in Boston for many years – always interested in photography and nature as teaching tools in the classroom. Photographs were used as evidence of change and helped to generate discussion and language. She is a jewelry designer, gardener, photographer and painter.
